Where’s Hiro?
Just something I’ve been thinking about ever since the episode aired… if you saw the episode where Hiro went back in time to save Charley (the waitress) from being murdered, you’ll remember that at the end his friend found a photo of him with Charley at her birthday party. When he asked another waitress about it, she commented that they were really close but that he had “popped” out of her life some time ago. I just thought that was such in interesting choice of words for her to use, considering that when Hiro teleports, he does kind of “pop” in and out of time/space.
Also, she said he’d been gone for a while. Where did he go? Is that when he went to see Peter on the subway to warn him about the cheerleader? If so, why isn’t he back yet? Also, how long has he been gone? It makes me wonder if something hasn’t happened to him. The whole concept of time travel is that you could theoretically return to the exact moment you left – so why hasn’t he?
One last thing – why haven’t the cops been asking where he went? If this was a murder investigation, even if he wasn’t considered a suspect before, his disappearance would probably make him one now. How long is it going to be before anyone else realizes he’s been gone? And man, did that diner clear out of cops and investigators quick. I don’t know much about crime scenes, but I wouldn’t have thought that they would get back to business as usual in a matter of hours… unless I’m just not getting how much time the show is trying to say has passed.
