Blair witch on Bones
I’ve recently picked up another show to watch – like I have the time to spare to sit mindlessly in front of the TV… Bones on Fox is an excellent “investigation” type show – mixing the brains of Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) with the wit of Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). Throw in some great supporting cast members and it makes for a pretty good show.
This past week was an episode I really expected to be disappointed in. It started out (and pretty much stayed) a play on the Blair Witch Project – you know that really bad movie that came out several years ago and caused such a stir? Either you loved it or hated it. Anyway, let’s just say I wasn’t impressed, and was worried I’d be disappointed in this episode.
I won’t recap it for you completely – if you watch the show yourself you’ve already seen it. If you don’t watch it, you should, but you can go to their website to catch a great episode outline. Let’s just say that they took the Blair Witch story and made it their own – and although I was able to guess “who-did-it” before the episode came to a close, I was impressed. I thought it was especially funny that the one person who didn’t seem freaked out by all the weirdness of the supernatural was the woman in charge – Bones herself. I guess if I lived a “facts tell the story” life I’d be the same way.
Bottom line, if you like crime-scene, investigation shows – this is definitely one to check out!
